  DESCRIPTION:

DLS offers small group classes or private classes in 8-level intensive English program. Running in 4-week sessions, the 28-hour per week program focuses on improving English conversation skills and includes study in all skills: pronunciation, listening, grammar, reading, writing, current events, presentations, movies, and computer laboratory instruction. The flexible entry system allows intermediate and advanced students the opportunity to join on any Monday after placement testing. Ideal for academic preparation, business professionals and holiday travelers.

 HOUSING COSTS:

Dormitory: $600 to $850 + $400 refundable deposit, Homestay: $25/day + $150 Arrangement Fee, Hotel: $65-$200 per night, Apartment: $900-$2000 per month + $500 refundable deposit.

 LOCATION:

Diplomatic Language Services, Inc., is located on the scenic Potomac river in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. DLS is on two subway lines which allows DLS students easy access to the cultural and recreational opportunities of the nation's capitol and to nearby Airports. Within driving distance are mountains, beaches, and a wide variety of historic and entertainment attractions.

 APPLICATION INFORMATION:

Submit a financial statement showing at least $1200 per month of support available to the student, proof of health insurance, English Student Enrollment Agreement, and applicable registration fees and accommodation deposits. Minimum age: 18.

 EDUCATIONAL SERVICES/OPPORTUNITIES:

The DLS academic advisor assists students in registering and preparing for the official TOEFL tests as well as assists and counsels students in selecting and applying to appropriate colleges or universities in the US.

 STUDENT SERVICES:

Counseling on housing, affordable health insurance, academic, social and visa issues. Class excursions in Washington, monthly parties, weekly movies and weekend excursions. Multimedia lab with internet access is available to all students.

 TRANSPORTATION:

5-minute drive from National Airport, 25-minute drive from Dulles International Airport and 2 blocks from the subway. Airport pickup service: Dulles International Airport--$100, National Airport--$50, arranged in advance.

 OTHER PROGRAMS

DESCRIPTION:

Specialized programs to meet the specific needs of individual students or sponsored groups of students. Custom Courses offered are English for Specific Business Professions, English for International Government Officials, English for Teachers of English, and English for Interpreters, TOEIC preparation and TOEFL preparation. DLS is an official TOEIC test center.
