DESCRIPTION:
IEI prepares students for university study or for success in their professional careers. Students study an average of 5 hours /day in 4 week cycles. Elective classes in the afternoon permit students to focus on particular areas of English such as academic skills, accent reduction, business communication, professional skills, and courses of cultural interest.

LOCATION:
Brattleboro is located in southeastern Vermont, one of the safest and most beautiful states in the US. It is 2 1/2 hours west of Boston, 4 hours south of Montreal, 4 hours north of New York City and an hour north of Hartford/Springfield airport. The area is famous for downhill and Nordic skiing, snowboarding, classical music, biking, autumn foliage, and unspoiled natural beauty.

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES/OPPORTUNITIES:
IEI provides college counseling and conditional acceptance at its host institutions. IEI Vermont has a special arrangement with the Vermont State Colleges for bridge programs and conditional acceptance. Many SIT students study with us at IEI before going on to their graduate studies at SIT in TESL or Intercultural Management.
STUDENT SERVICES:
Many campus activities, trips to Montreal, Boston, and New York, spa membership (with Olympic pool), tennis court, hiking trail, ice skating, skiing, SIT soccer team in fall, weight room.
TRANSPORTATION:
Students should fly to Hartford, Connecticut or Boston, Massachusetts; information on arrival is provided in acceptance packet; local transportation: school van provides transportation to town, taxi service(not available on Sundays after 6PM), town bus, bicycles
