  DESCRIPTION:

The Intensive English Program offers 25 hours of instruction per week at all levels of instruction in the language skills of vocabulary acquisition, structure, composition, reading comprehension, and listening/speaking. Computers for English instruction as well as an electronic language lab are standard parts of the program.

 LOCATION:

Texas Wesleyan University is located in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex in Fort Worth, a city known for its Western heritage, friendly atmosphere, and moderate climate. The metroplex is the home of internationally known art museums, symphony orchestras, sports organizations, and numerous state and private universities.

 APPLICATION INFORMATION:

Along with application form, student must send photocopy of high school transcript or other grades plus results of national examination. If student intends to enter an American university degree program upon completion of Intensive English transcripts must be translated into English and official copies provided to the university.

 EDUCATIONAL SERVICES/OPPORTUNITIES:

Included in the program are frequent field trips, social events, an American Conversation Partner Program, and a Personal Pronunciation Program. Students who have satisfactorily completed Level 4 do not have to present a TOEFL score to enter the university.

 STUDENT SERVICES:

Students in IE receive a university identification card which admits them to all extracurricular social and academic activities on campus. The university has a counseling and testing center as well as a health office located on campus. Students have access to all sporting facilities, including indoor swimming pool, tennis and volleyball courts, gym, weight lifting equipment. Free airport pickup.

 TRANSPORTATION:

The university is located directly on a city bus route by which students can reach all parts of the city. The metroplex is served by DFW International Airport, and very easy transportation from DFW to TWU is available by shuttle bus or taxi.
