  DESCRIPTION:

Our program is an Intensive English Program of 8 proficiency levels. Students attend classes 5 hours per day, in 8-week cycles. A computer lab is available to all students in all levels. TOEFL preparation classes are available at all levels to students. We offer several different elective courses for our students: music, word processing, photography, etc. Counseling and tutoring are provided upon request.

 LOCATION:

Located on the campus of The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, the institute is near Oak Ridge, the scientific center for energy research. It is a short drive from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a favorite resort for many Americans.

 APPLICATION INFORMATION:

We have 5 terms per year-Fall I and II, Spring I and II, and Summer. Applications are accepted year-round. Program and housing information will be sent upon request.

 EDUCATIONAL SERVICES/OPPORTUNITIES:

Students admitted to the institute are assisted in applying to appropriate graduate and undergraduate programs in the United States, including those here at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK).

 STUDENT SERVICES:

The English Language Institute provides a full program of academic and recreational activities. Students have access to all campus facilities and activities. They are also welcome to participate in activities at the International House.

 TRANSPORTATION:

We provide airport pick-up and settling-in assistance to all students upon request. The institute is within walking distance of dormitories, and the university provides a trolley service.
