  DESCRIPTION:

The program includes students coming for short-term English studies and students who want academic preparation. Small classes guarantee maximum student-teacher interaction. Basic skills courses (Grammar, Reading, Writing, Listening/Speaking) and elective courses (TOEFL preparation, Pronunciation, American Culture, American Film) are offered.

 LOCATION:

MC CELL is located in a picturesque small town just 20 minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, one of the prettiest regions in the U.S. Knoxville, the third largest city of Tennessee, is 20 minutes north. The beautiful spacious, quiet and safe campus is conveniently located near town center.

 APPLICATION INFORMATION:

Applications can be requested from address, fax, or e-mail listed above. As sessions begin year- round, there is no deadline; students can apply for any session. Necessary for application: completed application form, $25 application fee, financial records and (if continuing into U.S. university studies) school records.

 EDUCATIONAL SERVICES/OPPORTUNITIES:

Any applicant may be considered for admission into undergraduate programs of Maryville College, which provides over 40 areas of study. Advanced students in ESL program may enter a "transition program," taking some university coursework while completing ESL. They may also audit college classes. All students can participate in all facets of student social life on campus.

 STUDENT SERVICES:

full facilities of campus: indoor pool, tennis courts, gymnasiums, weight training center, library services, concerts; all programs of college open to ESL students; 3 foreign student advisors, field trips and shopping trips provided each session; free airport pick-up.

 TRANSPORTATION:

Since Maryville is a small town, not much public transportation is available or needed. Most students live within a short walk of campus facilities.
