DESCRIPTION:
ELI, a division of The Language Company, is
designed to give
individuals the opportunity to further their
educational and
professional goals through mastery of the English
language.
Instruction is offered 30 hours a week in nine
different
levels. There is a computer language lab.
Thirteen, four-week
sessions per year with applications accepted
throughout
the year.

ELI is conveniently located in Edmond, Oklahoma,
on the campus of
The University of Central Oklahoma, a major
academic institution
with over 16,000 students. Edmond is a safe and
secure city, with
a low crime rate and traditional social values.
The cost of living
in Oklahoma is low. You will find that housing,
food, and
entertainment are cheaper here than in most places
in the U.S. The
climate allows for year-round outdoor activities.
APPLICATION INFORMATION:
Sessions begin every four weeks beginning December 28, 1998; late arrivals accepted. Applications are sent upon request and can be express mailed in only a few days. If you apply 60 days or less to our institute you are gaurenteed free courier service starting in 1999.
EDUCATIONAL SERVICES/OPPORTUNITIES:
Undergraduate students who achieve a 460 on the
TOEFL exam and
complete a subsequent 12 weeks of English
instruction and Graduate
students who achieve a 500 on the TOEFL exam and
complete a
subsequent 12 weeks of English instruction may
enroll at most state
supported universities and colleges. ELI also
has agreements with
many other national and local universities and
colleges that will
accept ELI graduates from Level 109 without a
TOEFL score.
STUDENT SERVICES:
ELI students are offered a variety of outside activities in which they may participate. Most activities are offered for free or for a nominal fee. Airport pickup is provided for new students.
TRANSPORTATION:
The campus is centrally located in Edmond and is
near many
restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. Public
transportation and
taxi service are available.
OTHER PROGRAMS
DESCRIPTION:
Study Vacation programs are available as well as
English for
business people, TOEFL Prep Courses, and
University Prep Courses.
