Intensive English for Academic Purposes with core and optional electives, Corporate English training, oral skills/pronunciation training, TOEFL preparation; mid-term entries 8 weeks after the beginning of semester, if space available.

LOCATION:
Xavier University is a Jesuit institution located
in the city of Cincinnati, on the Ohio River. Cincinnati
was named "The Most Livable City in North America"
in 1993 by Places Rated Almanac.
APPLICATION INFORMATION:
Students must send an application, a $25
application fee, a $50 tuition deposit, and a
financial statement showing $7020 of support for a
4-month term.
EDUCATIONAL SERVICES/OPPORTUNITIES:
Academic advising is available on a daily basis.
Conditional admission is available to both graduate
and undergraduate applicants. Qualified students in upper
levels may also enroll in Xavier undergraduate
courses.
STUDENT SERVICES:
The Office of International Student Services offers arrival assistance and complete orientation, immigration advising, personal and adjustment assistance, and a variety of programs, trips and activities. These may include trips within the Cincinnati area, visits to museums and other local attractions, and trips to locations such as Washington, D.C. and other US cities. Conversation partners are available; sports complex, International Student Society activities, weekly international coffee hour, and other programs.
TRANSPORTATION:
Xavier is located within a 30-minute drive from
the Greater Cincinnati Airport, and a 10-minute
drive from the Greyhound Terminal. Airport pickup is available if arranged in advance through the Office of International Student Services. The university
is served by city bus lines, and commuter services
are also in place.

DESCRIPTION:
All IEP courses, except those at the
beginning level, are credit-bearing;
administration of ITP (institutional) TOEFL, TWE preparation, certified TOEIC center.
The Xavier ESL program offers comprehensive Corporate English Training. Drawing from numerous university and business resources, training integrates language, business, and cross-cultural skills. Services include needs analysis, pre-departure training, corporate visits, business seminars, materials development, discussion partners, and development of continued learning plans.
