Academic preparation, Cultural orientation, Thematic curriculum, Computer skills. Five-level curriculum for graduate and undergraduates, as well as business professionals. Opportunities to audit or take credit classes. Conditional admission to university for undergraduate and graduate programs possible prior to or during enrollment at INTERLINK

 HOUSING OPTIONS:

University residence halls selected for welcoming internationals; apartments off campus (most with 6-month minimum; some less); home stays (very limited, non-smokers only).

 HOUSING COSTS:

Off-campus, $300 - $400 for shared apartment; $450 – 600 for one or two bedroom unfurnished apartment. Host family, $500 per month including some meals.

 LOCATION:

UNCG, one of the 16 campuses of the University of North Carolina, is located in a quiet, residential area about two miles from downtown Greensboro. The university has doctoral and Masters programs, as well as undergraduate programs. The MBA program, School of Nursing, School of Education, School of Music, and Sports Science programs are especially good. UNCG has an excellent soccer team. Greensboro is a family-oriented city, safe, midway between beaches and mountains, with good airline connections.

Application information, brochures, and a videotape are available on request or through our web site. Phone, fax, or email the director. We issue I-20’s for study and qualified students may apply for conditional acceptance to our host institutions.

 EDUCATIONAL SERVICES/OPPORTUNITIES:

Students have access to library, computers, chance to audit classes, participate in student organizations. Academic advising is provided, and students taking classes along with English can use the Writing Center.

 STUDENT SERVICES:

Airport pick-up, on-campus housing reservations, help with off-campus housing location, college advising, and orientation to the campus and the area are provided by INTERLINK. UNCG has field trips, weekly campus activities, outings. Private local organizations host picnics, offer trips during terms and over breaks.

 TRANSPORTATION:

Air, rail, and intra-city bus service. Local bus service is poor but improving.
