  DESCRIPTION:

ELS Language Centers offers a group intensive program that is divided into 9 levels, from beginning to highly advanced. A Masters Level for highly advanced students is offered at all Centers, depending on enrollment. Each level takes four weeks to complete. All language skills are taught during the 30 hours of instruction per week. In addition, students at the intermediate and advanced levels may choose from a variety of special interest courses, including Multimedia Language Lab, Current Events and Idiomatic English. ELS Language Centers also offers Executive Training Programs customized to meet the particular needs of each student.

Average: 12 in structure/speaking and conversation classes

 LOCATION:

ELS Language Centers is situated on the campus of Wagner College, amid the country-like surroundings of suburban Staten Island. Just a ferry ride away lies Manhattan and the nations greatest variety of cultural and entertainment opportunities. *Students admitted to Wagner College may attend college classes for credit concurrently with their ELS Language Centers course once they reach 107 or above.

 EDUCATIONAL SERVICES/OPPORTUNITIES:

More than 600 U.S. universities, colleges and career schools recognize completion of the ELS Language Centers Intensive English Course as satisfaction of their English language admissions requirement, in place of the TOEFL or other exam. The ELS Language Centers University Placement Service can help students secure placement in a U.S. university, college or career school before they leave home, and each Center also provides college placement assistance to currently enrolled students.

 STUDENT SERVICES:

STUDENT SERVICES: The Center's full-time Student Advisor, assisted by the entire administrative staff, provides a wide range of services that include airport meeting, assistance with housing, cultural orientation, help with immigration matters, college admissions counseling, and sponsorship of a variety of social and recreational activities. The Center also offers free e-mail and Internet access to our students.

DESCRIPTION:

Intensive Prep for the TOEFL Test. Students enrolled in the 1999 TOEFL Prep class will receive specialized instruction on taking the computerized version of the TOEFL Test. Internship Experiences Practice and expand your English communications skills through an unpaid internship with a U.S. company or organization.
