ELSC-Albany offers intensive English instruction during nine 5-week terms. The program prepares students for entrance into American colleges and universities, and improves skills for personal and professional development.

Homestay, ELSC dormitories, or own arrangements; campus meal cards are available for dormitory and independent students

$575 for homestay including meals; $475 for dormitory without meals

 LOCATION:

The English Language Study Center is located on the campus of a small liberal arts college in a residential area of Albany, the state capital. The ELSC is 5 hours from Niagara Falls, and 3 hours from Montreal, Boston, and New York City.

 APPLICATION INFORMATION:

Please contact the center director for application materials. For new students, there are non-refundable $75 application fee, a non-refundable $75 housing application fee, and a $50 testing fee.

 EDUCATIONAL SERVICES/OPPORTUNITIES:

ELSC Albany is an institutional TOEFL and TOEIC testing center. TOEFL preparation is an integral part of the ELSC's intensive English program. Students with a 485 TOEFL score may participate in the Half/Half Program and enroll in classes at The College of St. Rose while studying at ELSC.

 STUDENT SERVICES:

Visa/immigration counseling is provided. Students are assigned advisors for academic and cultural counseling. The ELSC office maintains a library of tourism materials and college catalogs. Airport pickup and drop-off are offered. Activities and excursions are scheduled each term.

 TRANSPORTATION:

Buses and taxis are available.

 OTHER PROGRAMS

DESCRIPTION:

The ELSC offers 3-week programs in the summer and winter which integrate English instruction and seasonal activities. Individualized business English programs are available.
