DESCRIPTION:
The American language Institute at New York University was founded over 50 years ago. Annually, the Institute enrolls over 2,500 students from 70 countries. In addition to preparing students for study at an American college or university, the Institute provides business English courses for international professionals. Other features include: accent reduction courses, computer courses, conversation partners, internet courses, and TOEFL preparation.

APPLICATION INFORMATION:
Write, phone, e-mail or download from our web site an application for an f-1 student visa (form I-20). Applications are processed within 24 hours of receipt and express mailed back to applicant.
EDUCATIONAL SERVICES/OPPORTUNITIES:
All students prior to registration take the American Language Institute's proficiency test which concludes with a one-on-one interview with a faculty member. A foreign student advisor is available for educational counseling and the School for Continuing and Professional Studies has a center for Career, Education and Life Planning.
STUDENT SERVICES:
An International Activities Assistant is available to help students take advantage of the wealth of cultural and entertainment opportunities that abound in one of the world's foremost cultural, artistic, and entertainment capitals. Weekly coffee hours, movies, and tours are provided, conversation pairings with native speakers are arranged, and discount theatre and music tickets are provided.
TRANSPORTATION:
Students arrange their own transportation from the three airports serving the New York metropolitan area. Trolley service is available to numerous University locations.
