DESCRIPTION:
The regular school year program for high school
students is a 5-level program in grammar, reading,
writing, speaking and listening, cultural
orientation, and computer-assisted instruction.
There are 5 sessions per academic year including a
special summer program. TOEFL is given every
session. There are 5 class hours per day as well
as computer lab time and special help.

ALA/Oakwood Friends School is located in
Poughkeepsie, New York, 130 kilometers
north of New York City. Students aged 14-18 live
on the campus of a small,
intimate private high school in the scenic Hudson
Valley Region of New York State.

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES/OPPORTUNITIES:
ALA offers students assistance in high school and
college placement. Upper level ALA students may
take classes from the curriculum of OFS.
STUDENT SERVICES:
A complete program of extra-curricular activities
is offered in conjunction with OFS. Varsity and
intramural sports, art, theater, clubs, and
excursions are included in every session for all
students.
TRANSPORTATION:
Personal ALA airport pick-up is offered at Stewart
Airport and New York City airports
