DESCRIPTION:
SSALI provides instruction for academic purposes as well as for social or job-related needs. In addition to
"core" courses, students can choose from electives such as TOEFL, Culture/Conversation, English for
Business, and English Through Media. SSALI offers fall and spring semesters (13 weeks each) and two 5-week
summer sessions.
Mid-semester enrollment is also permitted

LOCATION:
The program is on the SSU campus in a modern, suburban city, known for its safety and friendliness. The
excitement of San Francisco, the beauty of the Napa/Sonoma wine regions, and the spectacular Pacific coastline
are all less than an hour from the campus.
APPLICATION INFORMATION:
Contact SSALI for a brochure, application form, or information regarding assured admission. The application
deadline is generally 4 weeks before the starting date of the session.
EDUCATIONAL SERVICES/OPPORTUNITIES:
SSALI enjoys a cooperative relationship with the SSU Office of Admissions. SSALI can grant assured
admission to eligible students who intend to pursue an undergraduate degree program at Sonoma State
University.
STUDENT SERVICES:
SSALI provides full orientation and strong individual support. Counselors are available for university placement
and for academic or personal counseling. The I.D. card permits full use of campus facilities: library, media
resources, computer & listening labs, athletic equipment, swimming pool, tennis courts, etc.
TRANSPORTATION:
Express bus from airport or SSALI airport pick-up service is available. Bus service is also available to school
and shops. Many students walk or ride bikes to school.
OTHER PROGRAMS
DESCRIPTION:
Certain advanced SSALI students may be eligible to simultaneously take a limited amount of
SSU coursework for degree credit.
